BUTTERFLY BONANZA

Sunday was Butterfly Day this weekend!

Check it out: me and mom and dad and 500 butterflies from all over the world.

Some were as big as my head! No, not really. But almost!

I liked the blue one.

They flew all around and one even landed on me.

Mom: maybe we should bring this one home. He looks friendly.

It was just like THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR....

These guys must have eaten a lot of cake and ice cream to get this pretty.

DAD -- new idea: let's make my room a butterfly habitat!

You said I'm going to be sharing my room soon... So let's really turn it into a party space!

MY BACKYARD...sort of

Here I am at the Central Park Zoo, or, as I like to think of it: the Zoo in my backyard.

I'm picking up some free swimming lessons from the penguins.

Have to remember to stick my belly out like that guy when I'm in the water next week.

Good morning, Bear!

Mom: he looks hungry - I'm throwing him my raisins.

He went for them. No surprise - everybody likes raisins.

Hello, old friend! Have you missed me?

My very favorite: the giant rabbits.

Hey, I'm almost as big as you guys now!

The Delacorte Animal Clock...

Supposedly, the animals dance when the clock strikes the hour --

WOW! There they go! Dance, animals, dance!

Yesterday I hung out in Montclair with my friends Lily and Christopher.

Lily: have you heard the acoustic Music Together CD?

I'll burn it for you. It's pretty sweet.

We had a bubble fest outside. Backyards rule!

Backyard bubbles make Christopher mellow...

And backyard bubbles get Lily fired up!

Bubbles make me want to hang with my NJ friends every weekend!

Next time: my backyard!

(OK, it's not technically mine... but there's like 250 acres or something so, you know, lots of room for blowing bubbles.)

SPRING IS (SOON TO BE) SPRUNG

This weekend I got ready for spring!

I tried on my favorite sweatshirt from last spring...

Still fits. Sorts of. Need to stretch it a little.

My friend Isabelle came over with her parents and we made plans for spring playdates!

Isabelle's dad showed me how to use their camera. I bust into Isabelle's apartment most nights, so I was happy to host them at our place.

On Saturday, I joined a pick-up soccer-game in the park... (No pictures: Mom and Dad wouldn't let me keep playing because everyone else was four to five times my age and size.)

And on Sunday, Grandy, Boppa and Aunt Liz came over for a visit.

BONUS: they brought me some new spring clothes!

Hanging with them was a definite weekend highlight.

And I rounded out the day with a nutritious, vegetable-based dinner...

Swimsuit season is just weeks away, people.
